YET more improvements are coming to Barry Island as part of the ongoing regeneration of the eastern promenade.
Improvements will include the restoration of the bandstand, the creation of a ramp to the Coastwatch Centre, and improved safety for visitors through the installation of a new guard rail along Clements Colley Walk.
In addition, new surfacing to match the eastern promenade and new planting and repairs to the rockery walls at the promenade gardens will be undertaken to ensure the resort is looking at its best for the start of the season.
The works are set to further enhance the area and improve access and enjoyment for both current residents and new visitors to Barry Island.
Coucillor Lis Burnett, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said: “We want everyone to enjoy the excellent facilities of Barry Island, and the latest phase of improvements demonstrates the Council’s continued commitment to reviving Barry Island as a leading visitor destination.”
