MOTORISTS using two of Barry’s main thoroughfares are being advised about ongoing works that may cause disruption.

The Vale Council’s highways and engineering unit working together with Calibre is scheduled to carry out works to allow for the construction of a shared cycleway/footway on Port Road East between the junction of Stirling Road and Weycock Cross roundabout.

The operation, which began on January 5, has meant intermittent temporary traffic control along with carriageway width restrictions will be in place to allow for the construction of a shared cycleway/footway.

The work is scheduled to end on Thursday, January 30.

Works at Port Road, Wenvoe, which also began on January 5 are scheduled to continue.

Redrow Homes working with Bell Contracting Ltd has meant a temporary 30mph speed limit will be in force to allow for works to the new housing development to take place.
