AFTER two years of working around the clock tending to sick animals a local vet has set up his own practice.

Richard Williams recently launched the Vale Veterinary Centre on the Ty Verlon industrial estate, behind McDonalds on Cardiff Road, with the help of his practice manager wife Jo and his loyal team of assistants.

The veterinary service has promised to care for poorly pets 24 hours a day, and will even make home visits to ease the concerns of their nervous owners.

Richard, who lives in Penarth, said he was hoping to provide a service to pet owners from across the Vale so they didn’t have to travel to Cardiff get treatment.

“You can see me whatever time, day or night,” he said.

“We also have webcams connected up to the premises so owners can check on their pets at any time.”

He added: “We want to build up a relationship with people in the area from the likes of Penarth, Barry, Dinas Powys and Sully.

“We want them and their pet to feel looked after and 100 per cent cared for.”

When he’s not nursing animals back to health, Richard can also be heard on the radio waves when he is invited on to BBC Radio Wales’ ‘Good Morning Wales’ show as a veterinary expert.

“I usually talk about about topical issues of the time when they do a newspaper review,” he said.

“I was on there the other day as there was a story about spoiling your pets.”
