THE Rotary Club of Barry have made a donation to the Barry Friends and Neighbours Club, an organisation that gives help and support to elderly people in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Barry Rotary Club president Robin Pitcher recently visited the centre to present a cheque for Gay Fifield, organiser of the Barry Friends and Neighbours Club. The money will be used to enable them to have a Christmas party.

The Rotary Club of Barry will have stalls in High Street, Barry on Friday, November 28, when the Christmas lights are switched on and plans are well in hand to have another stall at the Dickensian evening in Dinas Powys on Friday, December 5. Members will also be visiting Orchard House later in December with the Inner Wheel Club of Barry to hold a Christmas evening for the residents.

The Rotary Club of Barry also continues to support the Vale Food Bank with monthly donations of food and with the collecting of food at Tesco, Barry.

Members of the Rotary Club of Barry are part of an international organisation with 1 million members (men and women) worldwide, forming a global network of business, professional and community volunteers. The Rotary Club of Barry meets weekly in the Glenbrook Inn on Thursdays 6pm for 6.30pm.
