MENTER Bro Morgannwg launched ‘Gigs Bach y Fro’ on Friday, October 24, with a gig in the Windsor Arms, Penarth.

Al Lewis and Kizzy Crawford proved very popular with over 90 people attending. Tickets were sold out before the evening had started and S4C filmed their programme ‘Heno’ live from the venue.

This was the first event in a calendar of music, poetry and comedy nights in Welsh which will be held around the Vale of Glamorgan over the next year, and the next event will be a Comedy Night in Barry on February 13 2015.

This project is organised in partnership with Menter Bro Morgannwg and Clwb Ifor Bach, and funded by a ‘Developing Audiences’ grant by the Arts Council of Wales. Menter Bro Morgannwg also gratefully acknowledges the support of BOOM Pictures Cymru, Barry Town Council, Penarth Town Council and Dinas Powys Community Council.
