ON Thursday, October 23 members of the Rotary Club of Barry joined forces with the Inner Wheel Club of Barry to host a well supported International Lunch in the Memorial Hall which raised £450, to be shared equally for Rotary and Inner Wheel International charities.
Special guest was local businessman Ted Arbuthnot who is chairman of the Vale4Africa charity. Rotary Club of Barry topped up their share of the profit from their charity fund to enable president Robin Pitcher to present a cheque to Ted Arbuthnot for £500 for the Vale4Africa charity.
Plans are now well in hand for the annual Fireworks Fiesta which will take place come rain or shine on Wednesday, November 5 on Barry Island. The Club will also have a stall in High Street when the Christmas lights are switched on at the end of November and another stall at the Dickensian Evening in Dinas Powys in December.
