A FAMILY owned business has become the latest addition to the Barry Island cafe society scene and already received an Italian blessing.

Coastal coffee, owned by Island business entrepreneurs and brothers Jonathan and James and their mum Susan Osborne who own the Fun Harbour Centre, opened its doors to all-weather coffee lovers and is treating them to coffee from Bridgend-based Ferraris, the oldest coffee roasting company in Wales.

The wi-fi enabled shop replaces Forte’s cafe, on Paget Road, which had traded on the Island since the 1940s.

Co-owner Jonathan Osborne said they had been able to employ three people to operate the cafe every day, eight until late, throughout the year.

He said: “We will give a warm welcome both to former customers and everybody else.”
