FRIENDS and Neighbours held their October Meeting at Beryl Road Pioneer Hall with a fish and chip lunch followed by dessert, tea and coffee.

The group has grown immensely since it was established four years ago when it met at The Senior Health Shop, Holton Road, Barry but as the numbers have grown it has had to make the decision to move to Beryl Road Pioneer Hall.

The group will continue to meet the third Wednesday of the month. Following fish and chips, Friends and Neighbours enjoyed entertainment with ''Bobby Newman'' singing and clapping along to the lyrics.

Bobby said: ''It was great to play in his home town and see every one having a good time''.

Councillor Howard Hamilton, Vale mayor and his wife Carol, attended the meeting and had a lovely time enjoying chatting to the members commentating on its increase and the obvious need for it.

The group are looking forward to their visit to Wales Millennium Centre to see the ''Lion King'' in November and a trip to Swansea to see the Christmas Markets and also their Christmas party at Brynhill Golf Club with a festive three course Christmas meal in December with entertainment.
