IN Year 2 at Colcot Primary School, the topic this half term is ‘Growing Things’.
Pupils started the topic by visiting Wenvoe Garden Centre where they bought a variety of plants to look after.
Pupils have planted their own beans which they are moving to a local allotment to continue growing over the next few months.
The school was also lucky to have a visit from Mrs Huggins (Beautiful Lily, High Street, Barry) who spoke to us and brought in a variety of exotic flowers, including Protea, Anthurium and Orchids.
Pupils learnt where in the world they are grown and why.
She was also kind enough to answer questions Year 2 had written for her.
