IAN Johnson, Plaid Cymru councillor, is calling on residents to get involved with the British Heart Foundation’s new campaign ‘Bag It and Beat It’ to fund research into heart conditions.

Speaking with Barry’s BHF shop manager, Victoria Froud, at their stall in Barry Library, Cllr Ian Johnson said:

“While we often get annoyed at getting bags through the door or requests for unwanted items, the money raised from this goes to good causes – raising money for research or treatment.

“The Bag It and Beat It campaign is calling on local residents to fill a bag with good-quality clothes, shoes, books, handbags, DVDs, CDs, bric-a-brac or children’s toys and bring them to your local BHF shop.

“There is also a collection service if you can’t take items to the shop yourself, on 0800 915 7000. For furniture and electrical items, visit bhf.org.uk/collection.

“Like all quality charity stores in the centre of Barry, the BHF shop on Holton Road has a wide selection of clothes, DVDs and other items where any purchases go to a good cause.”
