SENEDD TV has been re-launched and offers an improved service.

The National Assembly for Wales’s video streaming channel allows users to view Plenary and committee meetings on mobile devices, embed clips from these meetings on third-party sites all in addition to existing functions.

Other improved features to the site include an improved facility to locate archive material; a scrub feature to rewind live video and ability to go to a direct section in archived videos; adaptive screening to improve picture quality.

Presiding Officer, Dame Rosemary Butler AM, commented on the improved service saying: “I made a commitment, through my ‘Addressing the Democratic Deficit in Wales’ campaign to improve access to the Assembly’s data and content.

“I believe Senedd TV is now a resource that will widen access to and engagement with the work of the National Assembly.”

Peter Black AM, the Assembly Commissioner with responsibility for ICT and edemocracy, said: “The National Assembly must reach out to as wide an audience as possible to ensure that democracy works in Wales.

“With many of us now choosing to engage and communicate through digital media channels it is imperative that the Assembly utilises these platforms.

“Providing an on-line video streaming tool that provides functionality for people to engage with the Assembly is a central part of that process, and the launch of the refreshed Senedd TV will allow for greater interaction with the Assembly’s content to take place.”
