AN EMERGENCY first aid course aimed at sports coaches and individuals within a sports environment is set for this October.
The Vale of Glamorgan Council’s sports development team has organised the course which will be delivered by First Aid Supplies and Training Wales.
The course is nationally recognised and participants will receive a certificate that lasts for three years.
The course covers areas such as treatment of unconscious patient, breathing disorders, and fractures.
The course, costing £25, will take place at the Civic Offices, Holton Road, Barry, from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, October 19.
Clubs can apply for Community Chest funding to cover the cost of attendance.
The course is run as part of the council’s Creating Confident Coaches project which aims to develop sporting coaches in the Vale.
Spaces are limited and must be pre-booked.
