THE Llancarfan Village Show and Summer Fair, on August 16, was well supported and enjoyed by everyone who came along.
On display was an extensive range of show exhibits from handicrafts, paintings, photos, home baking and preserves. Exhibitors showed their green fingers with some excellent fruit and vegetables and displays of flowers and foliage.
The children’s classes showed great talent in their drawing, cooking and creative skills, with some amusing creatures made from fruit and vegetables.
Visitors were stunned by the amazing flower arrangements displayed in St Cadoc’s Church from ‘big, bold and beautiful’ to miniature arrangements that could fit into a four inch cube.
Outside there was fun for all the family with a variety of challenging games, refreshments to savour, face painting and plants to buy. Several of the Llancarfan societies and clubs also had promotional stalls. The Welsh Hawking Centre kindly put on a display of their magnificent birds.
We were delighted that Jane Hutt AM visited our show and kindly presented the prizes.
The day was rounded off as the villagers and their guests enjoyed a Real Ale and Hog Roast Social Evening.
Kay Brain, show secretary, thanked all who made the day such an enjoyable success.
