A FREE eight-week depression busting course is set to begin in Barry on Thursday, September 18, with people encouraged to sign up now.
Barry Communities First in partnership with Journeys Mental Health Charity aim to help people achieve recovery.
The course aims to support you to develop skills and strategies that will help you manage your symptoms, regain control of your life and move toward recovery.
It will also provide you with information, practical tools, and the opportunity to explore self-help.
This course is delivered by tutors who have personal experience of depression.
Topics include: what is depression?; sleep and relaxation; food and mood; thoughts and beliefs; managing loss and change.
The course runs from 12.30pm to 2.30pm at the Community Enterprise Centre, Skomer Road, Gibbonsdown, Barry.
Barry Communities First are a Welsh Government funded anti-poverty programme aimed at improving the health, prosperity and learning of residents living in parts of Buttrills, Cadoc, Court, Castleland and Gibbonsdown.
