AN opportunity for young people to win a great deal from a leading bank is being backed by Vale MP Alun Cairns.

The challenge, launched to help youngsters aged 16 to 24 improve their money management skills, awards £500 grants from Lloyds Banking Group to those who want to run a money management activity in the Vale, with the best projects going forward to win a coveted place at the national and UK Grand Finals.

Mr Cairns said: “I am pleased to back this scheme to encourage youngsters in the Vale of Glamorgan to dream up the most innovative ways to improve the money management skills of learners, their friends and the wider community. Money management is a hugely important, yet often underestimated, aspect of education. That is why I support a project that will focus on improving money matters for those under 24 years old. It is an exciting challenge with a chance to win a substantial prize, so I call on those youngsters with a great money skills idea to enter and represent the Vale of Glamorgan.”

The competition opened on September 1 and entries can be made at www.moneyforlifechallenge.org.uk
