BARRY library users have been unable to access the internet after an issue with the software that enables them to use the service, arose.
The computers went down last week – following on from library users being unable to access Wi-Fi since, it has been reported, last November.
People receiving Jobseekers Allowance have been particularly affected due to the requirement to conduct employment searches for a minimum number of hours to be eligible for payment.
Chief Librarian, Christopher Edwards, said: “Council staff are working with the software supplier to resolve the problem and restore computer access as soon as possible.
“The Vale of Glamorgan Council’s library service is currently awaiting the installation of a new Wi-Fi service at a number of our libraries, including Barry. Once this service has been introduced free internet access will be available to all library users via their mobile devices.”
