COLCOT councillors have come together to welcome the Vale Council's decision to refurbish two local play areas.

The Children’s play areas at Dryden Terrace/Milton Road and Meggit Road/Port Road East will receive over £200,000 worth of investment over the next two years and will centre on the plans previously developed by the Colcot Residents Board.

The Vale Council’s Cabinet Report from July 28 by Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Innovation, Planning and Transport Councillor Lis Burnett gained approval for the much needed investment.

Colcot resident and local councillor Rob Curtis said: "I know local people will be over the moon with news of this investment.

"The community have been waiting a long time for these two popular parks to be refurbished. Local children will have something really good to look forward to which will also help them to keep fit and active.”

Fellow Colcot resident and Councillor, Anthony Powell added: “Thanks must go to the Colcot Residents Board and the Vale’s Parks Department for all the work they have done in drawing up the plans for the new refurbishment.

"By working together we can achieve so much more for the community.”
