A CONCERNED walker raised the alert recently when he spotted a potential hazard to the safety of visitors visiting Barry Island.
Thomas Jones took a photograph of the Nell’s Point footpath above the Eastern shelter and Baruc ward councillors Shirley and Nic Hodges were notified.
Councillor Hodges immediately notified the authority who responded to the call by cordoning off the danger area.
Mr Jones said: “I did not want anyone to get into trouble, but just wanted it put safe as soon as possible.”
A Vale Council spokesman said: “Repairs to a section of the footpath above the promenade that was damaged some time ago are being undertaken as part of the work to the adjacent wall and steps.”
