A FAMILY fun day raising money for two charities will take place at the Sully Sports and Social Club this Saturday, August 23.

The free event, from 10am until late, will raise money and awareness for Alzheimer's Research UK and St David's hospice care.

A fairground includes rides such as waltzers, dodgems, twisters, bouncy castles, and live music, from midday to 6pm.

A beer tent will sell ales and ciders plus the club’s bar will be open together with a barbecue, food and ice cream vans.

Police will be attending with, possibly, the police helicopter, alongside fire engines and stalls offering products and services from jewellery, balloon modelling, face painting, tutus, kids’ makeovers, a psychic, photographer, cakes, and more.

Anna, Elsa and Hello Kitty will join in the fun doing meet and greets with the children.

Award-winning magician James Piper will offer walkabout magic in the crowds from 1pm to 3pm.

And raffle tickets sales will help towards the £2000 charity fundraising target.

Halfords, in Barry, is offering a voucher for a child's bike and helmet to the value of £100, and there are vouchers for Delta Force paintballing for up to 10 people.

Other prizes include a family photography session and framed picture worth £225 from paulhindmarshphotography.com.

Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity.

St David’s Hospice Care is committed to providing bespoke, individual care for patients and their families.
