AN ACTION plan to boost tourism in the Vale has been discussed at a breakfast meeting held at the Vale Agricultural Show.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council Cabinet held the meeting as part of their commitment to help local businesses.

Local businesses and organisations attended the breakfast to discuss the plan, which looks to build the reputation of the Vale with tourists.

The business breakfast event forms a key part of consultation on the plan. Guests in attendance were encouraged to have their say on the draft plan.

A number of innovative suggestions were made during the session, all of which will now be considered.

There was also a short presentation at the event by Steve Webb, a specialist in destination and tourism management.

Following the session Council Leader Neil Moore said: “The Destination Action Plan, once formally adopted, will set out a vision, priorities and actions needed to improve all activities and schemes that impact on visitors and their enjoyment of the Vale.

"The plan will represent another major step towards the Vale of Glamorgan fulfilling its potential as a first class tourism destination.”
