A JOINT British Transport and South Wales Police initiative saw officers leave their mark on wise cyclists keen to protect their wheels.
Barry Neighbourhood policing team and their transport colleagues stamped postcodes on bicycles of all owners interested in not becoming victims of crime.
Police assisted willing residents at an event on King Square, Barry, on Tuesday, in an effort also aimed at combating shoplifting in the town with a highly visible presence.
Neighbourhood beat manager for Castleland ward, Nicola Owen said marking bicycles, scooters and laptops would enable the goods to be returned to the owners if stolen.
Residents are invited to get their items marked at another session to be held at The Knap, Barry, from 10am to 2pm on Tuesday, August 28.
