DISABILITY Services funded by Families First are holding a Family Fun Day for children with additional needs, their siblings and families.

On Friday, August 15 from 11am to 3pm, the fun day will have lots of activities on offer such as games, messy play, performances, face painting and much more.

The event will be held at Palmerston Community Learning Centre, Cadoc Crescent, Barry.

There will be refreshments available and all children must be accompanied by an adult.

The day aims for children to have fun and to let families know what services and support is available in the Vale. They can also sign up to the Disability Index to make sure they receive information about what’s available to them.

Until now, children had to be receiving Disability Living Allowance (DLA) in order to be included on the Disability Index. But now it applies to any child or young person who has a diagnosed disability or is in the process of being diagnosed.

Families that sign up will receive the quarterly newsletter ‘the Index’, packed full of information on play schemes, groups, events and information.
