AN OPEN day, organised by the Safer Vale Partnership, will be held at Barry Fire Station, Port Road West, on Saturday, July 26.

The event, from 11am to 3pm, will see families enjoy a packed day of entertainment and activities including face painting, an inflatable bouncy castle, and an owl display.

Magician Robin Fox and dancing troupe Desert Divas, will entertain.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service will give live demonstrations including an aerial water tower rescue, a road traffic collision, and a cliff rescue.

Visitors will have an opportunity to visit a recreated crime scene and take a look around various police vehicles including bikes, cars, and vans.

There will also be an opportunity to meet the Fire Service’s rescue dogs, take a close look at an urban search and rescue vehicle, and investigate a RNLI search speed boat.

Free car parking is available at Barry Comprehensive school.
