BARRY Beavers Disabled Swimming Club has been shortlisted for the next stage for the next stage of the Lloyds Bank Community Fund 2014.
Vale MP Alun Cairns nominated the club which was one of the chosen four organisations out of 4,500 applications that will now be put forward to a public vote in September. If Barry Beavers win they will receive £3000.
Mr Cairns commented: “I am absolutely delighted at Barry Beavers success and thankful that I could help with such a great organization.
"The Club members should be very proud of their success this far and I wish them the best of luck in the public vote.
“I attended their swimming gala event some months ago and found it inspirational. I wanted to do all I could to help them, the increased pool charges have been a significant hit.
“We now need to plan to ensure that they win the public vote in September. After all, a significant sum is up for grabs."
