HAVING already surpassed his £1000 target, the sky is the limit for a man fundraising in memory of his older sister.

Michael Cundliffe has raised more than £1150 for Llandough Hospital's Cystic Fibrosis ward in memory of his sister Claire who died in 2009.

To mark what would have been Claire's 30th birthday, Michael will be doing a skydive on Saturday, July 19 and is hoping for even more donations to be made to his Just Giving page.

Claire, who has been described as an extremely popular "feisty party animal" who never let Cystic Fibrosis get in her way died following a routine operation aged just 25.

Michael, 26, of Beatty Close, Barry said: "I have currently raised in excess of £1000 which is fantastic and also very comforting that my sister is still thought of so dearly.

"Me and my sisters had always been - and we still continue to be - a very close unit, sadly now with a gap that can not be filled.

"I had promised Claire that I would wear a pink suit to her funeral, I fulfilled her wish by doing so. Now this is the first big birthday Claire has not been here to celebrate with us.

"So I felt I had to do something big to mark such an occasion.

"Claire was very much a live-life-to-the-full and party-hard kind of girl when health permitted, so I felt there is no way to live life on the edge more then doing a skydive."
