A SHOPLIFTER has been given a four month prison sentence, suspended for 15 months, for a series of thefts from stores across Barry.
Francis Anthony Hocking, 44, of Jewel Street, Barry stole numerous razors valued at £298.27 from Tesco, Port Road West, on May 11 this year.
Then on June 9 he stole £45 worth of food from Iceland. Two days later he entered Superdrug on Holton Road where he stole a bottle of perfume valued at £58.
Less than a week later, on June 17, Hocking returned to Iceland and stole a quantity of meat, of an unknown value.
He pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to four months imprisonment, which was suspended for 15 months at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates' Court last week.
He was also ordered to pay an £80 surcharge and to undergo treatment for drug dependency during the15 month supervision period.
