A FUNERAL director has said he is disappointing that someone stole funeral cones intended to assist mourners.

Vale Funeral Service manager, Lyndsay Ellis, reported that five distinctive funeral cones had been stolen from the side of the pavement outside its chapel, on Windsor Road, some time from 8pm to 7.45am on Thursday, June 26 and Friday, June 27.

The cones were black with white sleeves with the word ‘funeral’ printed on the white sleeve.

Lyndsay said: “In preparation for a funeral the road is coned off to stop people from parking so the cortege can park there.

“I came to check at 7.45am and all the cones had gone.

“I’m annoyed and disappointed because people who did this will need the service of a funeral director in the future and wouldn’t like it done to them. There’s no value to them.”

Police are asking anyone with any information in connection to the stolen cones to call them on 101 quoting reference number 1400228266.
