A SERIAL thief has been jailed for a string of offences going back to May 2013 and all committed while already serving sentences in the community.

Sean Anthony Peck, 27, of Dunlin Court was jailed for 20 weeks at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates' Court for a series of offences committed across Barry.

On May, 17 2013 Peck stole a Kindle Fire and cloth cover from Copy It, on Holton Road and the following day stole a £115 camera from Tesco, Stirling Road.

Just five days later Peck returned to the same Tesco store and stole a camera and mobile telephone, valued at £149.

Having been released on bail, Peck failed to attend court and then offended again in August, when he stole electrical items of a value unknown from a house on Daniel Street. Four days later on August 16 he stole £24 worth of packaged meat from Iceland, Holton Road

In March of this year Peck stole a Yamaha moped from Hywel Crescent and a Suzuki motorcycle from Chesterfield Street - both on the same day.

In April after, again, failing to attend Cardiff Magistrates' court - and subsequent supervision appointments - Peck stole four gammon joints from Sainsbury supermarket, Park Crescent and returned the next day when he stole another three gammon joints.

On Tuesday, May 20 Peck returned to Holton Road Tesco and stole five large jars of Nescafe coffee. Less than a week later on Monday, May 26 he stole burgers, bacon and chocolate to the value of £16 from a shop in Plas Cleddau.

At the start of June Peck pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced on Thursday, June 26.

He was given a 20 week prison sentence and ordered to pay a total £100 compensation for the motorcycle thefts. The custodial sentence was given due to the offences being committed whilst subject to community

proceedings, because of previous breaches of community orders committed while on bail and because of the defendant's history of offending.
