A BARRY butcher has invaded the foodie pitch creating a sausage with a FIFA World Cup flavour and added kick.

Anthony Hopkins, of Vic Hopkins, in High Street, has created the Chicken Suarez Sausage following the now infamous match incident in which Uruguay forward Luis Suarez bit Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini during the teams’ recent Brazil match.

The butcher’s team added the Barry-made Hot Diggidy Dog chilli sauce in the hope of gaining extra fans.

Anthony said: “We’d been looking for another flavour to add to our ever expanding selection of homemade sausages and decided to produce a sweet chilli chicken sausage.

“They were ok but didn’t have quite enough of a bite, so we added some of the world famous Hot Diggidy Dog sauce and a bit of Hopkins magic and wow, perfection was created.

“All we needed now was a name; perfect timing for the World Cup “biting” incident, hence Chicken Suarez Sausage - a great tasting sausage with a big bite!”
