AFTER a visit to the Tenovus ManVan on Barry Island, Vale Mayor Howard Hamilton, and Cabinet Member for Children’s Services Chris Elmore have spoken glowingly about the service.

Following the visit to the van - a converted, 38ft American-style motorhome that travels across Wales to support men living with, or affected by, prostate and testicular cancer - the Mayor said: “I am pleased that awareness is being raised of this important issue and I congratulate everyone involved on their work.”

Councillor Chris Elmore said: “The ManVan provides a much needed service for residents of the Vale and I was delighted to see it located in Barry this month.

"The friendly and approachable staff were a credit to Tenovus and created a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.

"I look forward to welcoming the team back to the Vale of Glamorgan in July when they will be visiting Penarth.”

The Tenovus ManVan will feature as part of the Penarth Festival on Glebe Street, Penarth on Saturday, July 19.
