GAVIN & Stacey’s Nessa famously made Dave Coaches Gooch, her fiancé, get on his bike as far as marriage was concerned.
But in real life writer and comedy star Ruth Jones, who played Nessa in the award-winning sit-com, has given the actor who played him - Steffan Rhodri – her full support as he embarks on a 400-mile charity bike ride on the east coast of the USA this September.
Steffan will be raising money for Velindre, but will stop off at Marco’s Cafe, the Square, Barry Island, this Sunday, June 15 where he will sell shirts and collect money for the cause.
Cafe owner Marco Zeraschi said: “My sister went to Velindre and they do a fantastic job. If we can support Velindre in any way we will.”
All are welcome to meet Steffan and donate to the cause from 11am to 3pm.
