BARRY-BASED Marie Curie Cancer Care fundraiser, Susan Borges and her sister Karen visited Parliament for a tour of the Palace of Westminster, last week.

Marie Curie nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals will this year care for more than 2,250 people with a terminal illness as well as provide support for their families across Wales.

Marie Curie provide care that is free of charge and available to anyone with any terminal illness, not just cancer.

Vale MP, Alun Cairns said: “I was delighted that Susan and Karen were able to see the Palace of Westminster. It is the least we could do after the fantastic work Susan and her sister do in the community.

“Marie Curie Cancer Care is dedicated to the care of people with terminal cancer and other illnesses. With over 130 Marie Curie nurses working in communities across Wales, they provide terrific support and friendship to many patients and their families during very emotional and fraught times – a service that is so valued by each and everyone that comes into contact with their care.”
