A HEROIN dealer from Barry has been jailed for three-and-a-half years following a police raid on his address in May.
Rhys John Watkins, 27, of Barry, was sentenced at Cardiff Magistrates Court after he pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A.
Officers visited his address on May 1 and found heroin, drugs paraphernalia and a large amount of cash. Watkins was arrested at the scene and charged the same day.
He pleaded guilty to both offences at Cardiff Magistrates Court on Wednesday, June 4.
Detective Sergeant Julian Kerslake, who carried out the investigation, said: "Rhys Watkins' arrest and conviction was a result of a well planned operation and this investigation shows that we can achieve real success in ridding neighbourhoods of drugs.
"Drug dealers cause serious harm to our communities and we will carry on targeting those involved in the supply of drugs in Barry."
