ON Thursday, May 15, 25 children aged between two and five-years-old from PhillyBear’s playgroup went on a trip to Cefn Mably Farm Park in Cardiff.

On the morning of the trip the group arrived at Barry 5th Sea Scout hall in Everard Street where PhillyBear’s Playgroup is based, to see the sun was shining. For many of the children this was their first trip out without their parents and for a few it was also the first time on a bus.

The farm was wonderful as it felt very safe and if it had rained there was plenty to do indoors with a large undercover area with animals in.

The children first looked at the goats and gently stroked them. They also got to see sheep, cows, pigs, horses and some smaller animals like rabbits and guinea pigs. The children talked about what noises the animals made and what colours they were.

After spending time walking around the group had a picnic with the horses and sheep looking at them though the fences.

On the bus on the way back a lot of the children fell asleep as they were shattered. Parents were waiting at the Scout Hall for them and they were very excited to tell them all about their trip.

PhillyBear’s Playgroup caters for children aged two-five years old and has a big indoor area. If you would like more information or would like to come and have a look around give Philippa a call on 07757665363.
