THE children at Gibbonsdown Children's Centre have been busy decorating butterflies for International Lupus Awareness Day which this year was on Saturday, May 10.
Lupus is an autoimmune disease which causes the immune system to attack the body's own tissues.
Victoria Gee, the deputy out of school club supervisor at the centre decided to raise awareness along with Julia John (out of school club supervisor) as her friend Serena Ahmed has the condition.
Vicky said: "Serena is a great friend, and I hope that we can make people more aware of this rare condition through our efforts."
Further information on the condition can be found at www.lupusuk.org.uk"
