PEOPLE living in the Vale of Glamorgan will have a chance to take part in a free personal development training course which aims to encourage them to have their say on health, wellbeing and social care services.

The training, organised by the Co-Creating Healthy Change Project at Diverse Cymru, starts on Thursday, May 22, from 10am–noon. It will be held at Station 20, Barry Fire Station, Port Road West, Barry. Further sessions in the course will be held at the same time and venue on May 29, June 12 and 19 and July 3.

The aim of the training is to help people develop their communication skills; to help them feel confident in sharing their views on health, wellbeing and social care services; and to help them to know how to make their voice heard.

The training is open to everyone and in particular Black and Minority Ethnic People, carers, disabled people, lesbian, gay and bisexual people, older people and transgender people, as people from these backgrounds don’t always have their views heard on the services they receive.

If you would like to book a place on the course or find out more about the training or the Co-Creating Healthy Change Project at Diverse Cymru contact Roz/Shelagh on 029 2036 8888, or email or

No special knowledge or experience is needed by people wanting to attend the training. Refreshments will be provided and expenses will be offered for travel and replacement care costs (including child care). Please let Roz/Shelagh know in advance if you would like to claim replacement care costs.
