LOCAL resident, Cardiff University student and World Championship darts referee Huw Ware has shown this week that he has other talents besides counting.
Huw who is current Head of Sport for Cardiff University TV picked up an Outstanding Contribution award at last Saturdays Student Media Awards dinner. The following night he was seen on our screens presenting "Brilliant Wales" for the Community Channel.
Huw said: "This has been an amazing weekend. Firstly, it was an honour to pick up the award on Saturday night. This is my second award in two years and I was overwhelmed. I could not have put out the sports show or my own radio show without the help of the great team around me. I was totally shocked to hear my name being called out.
"Then on Sunday to have the opportunity to present a TV show for the Community Channel was fantastic. It has given me so much insight and experience."
"I hope I get the opportunity to do it again. I am now looking forward to getting back on the darts stage in July after the small matter of end of year exams!"
