PUPILS from All Saints Church in Wales Primary School, Barry learned about issues facing older people through a Bombastic performance at the Memo Arts Centre, Barry.

Local MP Alun Cairns joined to school children to see for himself how the difficult social issue were being presented to young people.

The high energy performance forms part of an education package from Bombastic Dance Theatre Company which is supported by the Arts Council and Barry Memo.

Mr Cairns explained: “This is a marvellous concept where children are able to watch the story unfold on stage and then follow up the themes with their teachers in the classroom. There is an additional bonus of the performers going to the school to conduct workshops.

“I was glad to hear that several schools in the Vale were able to take part and I hope they all enjoyed the performance as much as I did. This particular performance dealt with dementia and covered some sensitive issues in a way that the children could understand.

“The show goes on a tour of Wales for the rest of the year and will be travelling to England next year. I wish them every success.”
