AMELIA Trust farm is inviting countryside fans to pay a visit on Open Farm Sunday, on June 8.
Hundreds of farms across the country will open their gates to celebrate British Farming and Food Inc and the Five Mile Lane, Barry, farm is joining in the fun.
Farms plan their own unique events which may include a host of activities from nature walks and farm tours, to sheep shearing, machinery displays and even cookery demonstrations.
Farmer Elizabeth John said: “The Amelia Trust Farm is a Care Farm, and a working farm set in 160 acres of countryside, which includes 28 acres of woodlands and a variety of habitats.
“The core objective is to support and educate vulnerable and disadvantaged young people and provides school intervention and an alternative curriculum.”
The Amelia Trust Farm event will include a wildlife talk, nature based activities, a guided tour of the farm, and exploration of a shepherds lambing tool kit.
The event runs from 2pm to 4pm.
