BARRY Comprehensive pupils have taken part in their annual Wythnos C’mon Cymraeg week and raised £130 for the British Heart Foundation .

Year 7 visited the Story of Cardiff Museum and discovered Cardiff’s history and learned about the people living there.

Sam Owen said: “I liked the interactive game.

“I also liked the Smelly Cardiff section – as I learnt what Cardiff Bay used to smell like.”

Many boys sang Welsh songs, learned new facts about Wales and worked hard to get their Cerdyn Clod (praise cards) signed in lessons and during lunchtime.

Youngsters also wore red for Wales and queued up to taste some traditional Welsh food.

Cawl proved a hit, but Laverbread wasn’t as popular. Cockles also made it as a taste sensation.
