THE annual Walk for Life took place last weekend (Sunday, April 27) with 50 walkers raising money for the Kidney Wales Foundation.

Joining the walk, from Morrisons to the Knap lake and back, were Jane Hutt AM and also Barry Town Council Mayor Claire Curtis and Councillor Rob Curtis.

Organiser Deborah Baker said: "Despite the weather we all managed to have a good time, catching up with friends, acquaintances and making new friends with our first time walkers.

"This year we were once again joined by our AM Jane Hutt and also by Barry Mayor Claire Curtis and Councillor Rob Curtis. Their support is very gratefully received and appreciated.

"A group of Morrisons’ staff also joined us. We would like to thank all who helped to make the walk such a success."

Jane Hutt AM said: "The Walk for Life is Kidney Wales Foundation's most important fundraising event of the year and I congratulate the committed volunteers who always make the Barry Walk such a success."

The Walk for Life helps to raise valuable funds that support kidney research and projects across Wales.
