A Barry pizza franchisee has scooped a prestigious national PR award.

From more than 100 Domino's Pizza franchisees across the UK and Republic of Ireland, Shayban Al-Ibrahim was awarded for his ongoing work in the communities around his 16 stores including Domino’s in Barry.

Shayban became a Domino’s franchisee in 2001 and has gone from strength to strength opening more stores across south Wales and the south West, building his business as well as the Domino’s brand.

Shayban is a proactive franchisee who does everything he can to create a buzz about Domino’s in the local areas, whether it’s sponsoring Miss Universe Wales, school tours for local children or most recently, partnering with Regional Rugby Wales to become headline sponsor of the four Welsh regions’ festive derby series.

Shayban said: “I am so pleased to have won this award. I really didn’t expect it but I am very proud to be recognised for the part my stores play in promoting Domino’s Pizza.

"PR is a valuable part of the business and my team and I do all we can to build solid relationships in the local communities around our stores.

"We support local sports teams, contribute to fundraisers in the community and invite groups of children to our stores for lessons in pizza making. Domino’s is an exciting, vibrant brand.”

Shayban was presented the award at Domino’s prestigious annual national awards in Liverpool.
