A HOUSING association is inviting residents to judge for themselves whether they would like a permanent stay at former court and hotel developed sites.

Newydd is calling on local people to express their interest in the former Barry Magistrates, Thompson Street, Barry and Marine Hotel, Barry Island, dwelling.

The open day on April 24 is for people to register their interest in renting one of 72 new affordable homes in Barry.

Homes will be available to rent from October 2014.

The former Barry Magistrates Court will offer six three bedroom family homes, thirty-two, two bedroom apartments and fourteen one-bedroom apartments.

The former Marine Hotel on Barry Island will offer 17 one-bedroom apartments and three two- bedroom apartment with the traditional 19th century design of the hotel ensuring the historic nature of this iconic building is kept.

This means that the properties will be energy efficient and built to last a lifetime.

Chief Executive of Newydd housing association, Paul Roberts said: “We urge local people to attend this open day at our Barry office to express their interest in applying for these fabulous new homes.”
