WHEN the African Children’s Choir came to Barry just recently it was a very moving experience.
A choir of about fifteen children from Uganda and Kenya gave an enthralling performance at the Memorial Hall on March 22, in front of more than 600 people – just as they had done at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012. But their mission is not just to sing, it is to help the world understand that there are millions of vulnerable children in Africa, many orphaned by the spread of Aids. And to raise money to help them have a chance in life.
Accordingly president Peter Battle joined the Mayors of the Town Council and the Vale, and Jane Hutt, in applauding them and making a presentation of £200 on behalf of the Rotary Club of Barry.
