THE former Barry Island tourist information centre and lifeguard stations are set to get a new lease of life.
Vale Council cabinet members decided to accept recommendation that the centre - managed on a seasonal basis from 191 until 2012 and vacated by police and St John Ambulance in mid-last year – be used as council office accommodation related to visitors and tourism at Barry Island.
Ground floors at both premises – the eastern promenade-based former lifeguard building currently housing cleansing officers – would be offered on a lease basis.
