THE Mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan, Councillor Margaret Wilkinson, recently presented Barry Swimming Club, Penarth Swimming Club and The Barry Beavers Disability Swimming club with swimming goggles for the club's members.

The swimming goggles were unsold stock in the leisure centres prior to the council’s facilities being operated by Parkwood Community Leisure.

Cllr Wilkinson said: "I am really delighted that the council has been able to provide this support to the three main swimming clubs using the council’s leisure centres. All of the clubs are voluntary organisations, operated by volunteers for the benefit of residents in the Vale of Glamorgan. They all provide opportunities for young people to maintain a physically active lifestyle which I consider extremely important."
