A CONSULTATION on alternative sites from the Vale Council’s Local Development Plan (LDP) is set to begin later this month.

Following the public consultation held in November and December last year a number of responses have recommended the “alteration or deletion of proposed development sites” as well as the inclusion of new development sites.

A Vale Council spokesman said: “This includes new and amended residential and employment allocations as well as amendments to green wedge and landscape designations.

“It should be noted that these sites are not the Council’s sites and the Council has not formed any view as to their suitability for development and is not promoting them for the uses suggested by the people who have made the representations.

“However, the Council is required to consult on these representations and the consultation period will run from Thursday, March 20, to Thursday, May 1, inclusive."

He added: “Information on this consultation and how to comment will be placed on the Council’s website at www.valeofglamorgan.gov.uk/ldp and will be available for public inspection during the consultation period at the Civic Offices and Dock Offices in Barry, the Alps depot in Wenvoe, as well as at all Vale of Glamorgan libraries.”

The Vale Council spokesman added: “In order to assist the public with responding to this alternative site consultation, sessions have been organised to give the public the chance to discuss the alternative site process with council officers. The sessions will take place between 2pm and 6pm on:

Wednesday, March 26, at Cowbridge Town Hall (lesser Hall)

Tuesday, April, 1 at St Athan Gathering Place

Wednesday, April 2, at Penarth Paget Rooms

Monday, April 7, at Llantwit Major Llantonian Hall

Tuesday, April 8, at Barry Dock Offices.”
