AN IRISH Wolfhound has helped inspire school pupils to take an interest in books.

Barry Comprehensive Year 7 students, last term, visited Barry library to meet authors Michelle Briscombe and Cathy Farr.

Each form class met the authors and were treated to a reading from their novel.

Students asked questions and found out what inspired both authors to write their novels.

They also had the opportunity to buy a novel and have it signed by the author.

Cathy Farr, author of fantasy adventures Moon Chase and Moon Crossing, spoke to the pupils about her books and about how she became a writer.

Some students met the inspiration behind her books – her Irish Wolfhound, Mojo.

Barry Library also promoted the facilities they have for young people and encouraged pupils to join the library if they hadn’t already.

7ANB missed out on seeing Cathy and Mojo at Barry Library so they made a special visit to the school.
