A BARRY-BORN author has witnessed a readership boom after his Barry Island Murders tale featured in the Barry & District News.
Andrew Peters, now living in Spain, saw his murder-mystery novel, set in his former home town, soar into the top 10 in Amazon’s Kindle chart.
He said: “I've seen a definite upturn in Kindle sales.
“In fact I've sold more in the last five days than I did of The Barry Island Murders in the previous five months.
I've also sold quite a few of the paperback version, and a reasonable number of copies of the sequel The Saundersfoot Suicides."
He added: “I have no way of telling how many of the recent sales are in Barry or as a result of the article, but I can't believe it's pure coincidence, so I am very pleased indeed.”
