CLASSICAL singer Katherine Jenkins is rumoured to be the latest celebrity interested in moving to the Vale of Glamorgan.

There have been several sightings of her in the area - including in Dinas Powys and other Vale areas - over the past week, with the news spreading like wildfire across social media sites.

Dinas Powys residents have grown used to seeing Charlotte Church and the father of her two children Gavin Henson in the village over recent years, but if Katherine Jenkins moved there it would really put the area on the map.

A spokeswoman from Katherine Jenkins’ management company said that she had been visiting family and friends in Wales recently and that she wasn't looking to buy a new property, but the Penarth Times understands that she has recently viewed a property and has expressed an interest in moving to Dinas Powys.

Rumours quickly spread on the Dinas Powys Pictures facebook page that Katherine was either house hunting in the area or visiting fellow celebrity singer Charlotte Church last week.

Her car and driver was reportedly parked at Eastbrook Railway Station on Wednesday, January 22, while she was also seen by a dog walker on Thursday afternoon.

The dog walker said they ‘swooned’ when they saw her at The Common, but still managed to say hello.

Katherine is thought to be interested in the £1,795,000 Lon Twyn property on Twyncyn in Dinas Powys, next door but one from Charlotte Church.

The six-bedroom property, described as an “exceptional house of excellent proportion” on estate agent Savill’s website, is secluded within its own grounds and boasts a large entrance hall, four bathrooms, three reception rooms, a garden and a double garage.

Peter Reilly, a property agent from Savills Cardiff, said that he could not comment on whether Katherine Jenkins was interested in the property or not, but praised what Twyncyn had to offer.

“It’s a beautiful property and one of the best in the area,” he said. “It’s absolutely superb, the architecture is modern and the location is fantastic.”

Savills states on its website: “The property is approached via electric gates with a sweeping driveway leading up to the impressive entrance.

“There are three principal reception rooms including an exceptionally spacious drawing

room, a large, elegant formal dining room and a family sitting room. There is also a charming garden room accessed from the drawing room which overlooks the garden.”

It adds: “The comprehensively fitted kitchen features limestone flooring and granite tops and also provides space for dining. There is a utility room, store room and cloakroom positioned off the rear hallway.”

All six bedrooms are located on the first floor, with the principal bedroom offering “delightful elevated views” as well as built-in wardrobes and a large en-suite bathroom.

Two other bedrooms also feature en suites, while a family bathroom serves the remaining three bedrooms.

The garden is also “well stocked with a pleasing variety of shrubs and plants”, while there is a gym in the room above the garage.
